Accrediting bodies in Australia

The Australian government oversees the accreditation system through the member commonwealth, states and territories of the MCEETYA - Certain higher education institutions and universities are authorized by government accreditation authorities in Australia to self-accredit their higher education courses. The AQF register - provides detailed information about the accrediting bodies recognized by the Australian government.

MBA

There are no recognized accrediting agencies for MBA that are based in Australia. Many top B-Schools are accredited by major agencies such as EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.

Medical Sciences

The Australian Medical Council - is recognized as an independent national standards body concerned with the accreditation of medical schools based largely in Australia and New Zealand.

Multiple Fields

National ELT Accreditation Scheme Limited (NEAS) - is Australia's national accreditation scheme for English Language Teaching centers.

The Non-State Schools Accreditation Board and Eligibility for Government Funding Committee - work predominantly with governing bodies of non-state schools on aspects of accreditation and funding eligibility

Training Accreditation Council (TAC) - is responsible for assuring the quality of vocational education and training in Western Australia
