Victoria is known for its sporting events, such as the Grand Prix and the Melbourne Cup, its incredible scenery and its network of regional cities. However, Western Australia is renowned for its natural wonders including coastal areas, wildflowers and red rock canyons.

There are many Aboriginal communities up north around the Kimberley region. The State capital, Perth, is full of museums, galleries and restaurants. In the south of the State, there are beach towns, farming and vineyards. And, tucked away at the far south of the country and across the untamed waters of Bass Strait, lies Tasmania, a place rich with heritage and spectacular natural history.

Medical Insurance for Studying Abroad

Medical insurance covers both domestic medical and international medical insurances. An international medical insurance may suit one's short or long term international medical concerns, depending upon the need such as the extent of single/multiple plan trips for individuals or families. Generally, international medical insurance covers emergency medical expenses, hospital stays and major surgeries.

Medicines carried while traveling must be checked to ensure that they are not controlled or banned by the government in the traveling country. Allowed medicines should also be correctly labeled in a container along with the prescription from a recognized doctor. It may be more viable to show personal health records along with the medical prescription.

Maximum insurance covers from Indian students abroad come from accident and health ailments followed by pregnancy. Some universities have their own set of requirements while others have set up ties with Indian insurance companies in covering Indian students.

Study Expenses and Fees in UK

Fees vary from school to school and are at the discretion of the institution; there are no national standards. You should expect to pay a minimum of £4,000 per year and fees can be as high as £25,000 for an MBA program.

Fees for UK college and university programs are generally lower than in the US and Australia. UK degree programs last three rather than four years, so you save a whole year’s worth of fees and living costs. Postgraduate Master’s courses are also shorter, lasting only one year compared with two in the USA and Australia.

The fees you pay to attend independent school include your course fees, accommodation and may include some or all extracurricular activities, but it's to check exactly what is included with the school. You may be asked to pay extra for language tuition. Fees vary from school to school and are at the discretion of the institution; there are no national standards. You should expect to pay a minimum of £4,000 per year and fees can be as high as £25,000 for an MBA program.

There is very little financial aid in the UK for international students. Some universities may give students with good or exceptional backgrounds, a part tuition fee waiver. Some universities give discounts of 1000 - 1500 Pounds to students with good academic backgrounds. Financial assistance and scholarships are available and it is worth finding out early on in the process what you will be able to receive.

Cost Calculation: Do remember that you won’t be entitled to the main UK state benefits if you have financial difficulties, so you must be absolutely sure that you can support yourself financially. If you are from a European Union (EU) country, you may qualify for ‘home’ fees (the fees charged to UK students – from 2006, up to £3,000 a year for a degree). The following are examples of average tuition fees for international students who do not qualify for reduced ‘home’ fees:

Average cost of Courses-

Education Scholarships in Singapore

Studying in Singapore is not considered financially difficult as fees for higher education in the country is low. The government heavily subsidies a substantial portion of the full tuition fees in general. This is done in the form of tuition grants.

Foreign students who wish to receive the tuition grant are required to sign a Tuition Grant Agreement with the government. As a foreign student, you gain more as for international students the subsidized fees are 10 per cent more than what a Singaporean student would pay. In return, tuition grant recipients are bonded to work in Singapore-registered companies for three years upon graduation.

Admission requirements of MBA in the US

The US continues to be the destination of choice for Indian students seeking an MBA from a foreign university. Undeterred by the post 9/11 visa restrictions, Indian students constituted the largest group of foreign students in the US for the fifth consecutive year in 2005-2006, according to the Open Doors Survey of the US based IIE (Institute of International Education).

Selection for an MBA program is based on a consideration of educational background and academic achievements, basic skills in English, professional experience and personal statements.

Eligibility for admission in an MBA program in the US

The basic minimum requirement in most US universities is a degree from an accredited US four-year undergraduate college/university or its equivalent. For an Indian aspirant this means that a three-year degree program does not meet the eligibility criterion. To be considered for admission in US, an Indian student must have a post-graduate degree or a professional four-year degree like engineering or a degree from a recognized one-year university affiliated program. Completion of the first year of a two-year degree course may not meet the eligibility criterion of most US business schools.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admissions Test)

GMAT is a must not only for admission but also for getting a student visa. Both quantitative and verbal scores are considered separately. A good score will give you an edge above the others.

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)

TOEFL is another requirement for Indian students from non-English speaking universities. It is a measure of one’s reading, listening, speaking and writing skills in English. There are facilities both for paper-based test as well as internet based test. The minimum scores required for most universities range from 550 to 600 on the paper-based TOEFL and 213 to 250 on the computer based TOEFL.

Letters of recommendation/ references/ assessment reports either academic or/and professional are required. Usually two or three such letters are required from individuals other than family members assessing the applicant’s performance either in an academic institution or at the work place. It is advisable to get references from both academic as well as professional sources.

Personal statements/admission essays have to be submitted. These essays are a very important component of the admission form. Care should be taken to explain how a master’s degree in that particular school fits in with the applicant’s career plans. It is recommended that both essays as well as letters of recommendation be fine tuned with the respective vision of the particular school.

Work experience

Work experience, usually between 3 to 5 years, is an important consideration in most schools. This has to be relevant. An interview may be required with the Admission Committee.
